how do you guys tend to stay up to date with who is putting out new/good stuff outside of whatever breweries are your locals? i used to be able to rely on going to bars, and i had a beer club with my friends, but the pandemic has kind of squashed all of that for now obviously haha. do you just subscribe to social media of breweries you like?
I've never had bottle logic or monkish so I don't need their special releases or anything. Just the standard offer. And great notion I've had once while in Portland. Would def venmo whoever the cost plus shipping if someone wants to put together a 6-8 can package.
This thread lol. Social media, especially instagram for breweries. If you have a good bottle shop that gets drops you can ask what the schedule is for those breweries so you know when to go before they are sold out. And not sure where you live but a lot of breweries bin NJ are doing home delivery all over the state. And breweries like other half or tired Hands and others are shipping to states that allow them to.
I can hook you up for sure, I can put together a good batch from my local shops by the end of the month.
I'll DM you next time I'm about to head there and we'll chat. It probably won't be super soon, but at least in the next few weeks
I follow local beer groups on social media. Plus all the local breweries. Also follow along in here too but most of the beers posted in here aren’t available in my area so if you have local groups on Facebook or Instagram, I’d suggest following along. The one beer group I follow on Facebook is nice because all the local beverage stores post daily of what new arrivals they’re getting. Plus a lot of good conversation.
I think the best method is following local bottle shops on Instagram. Untappd is another resource you can use. Some places use beermenus.com as well
If we didn’t have Oubre, we could’ve had a chance against y’all last night. Meanwhile, tonight... Canned 1/27, just showed up at my local liquor store. I’ve had this before and didn’t care for it, but I like it better this time. Not my fave but a solid 3.75/5
Same. Find a good one or two and follow them. The two I kept up with most had a web-site that they would sell them on so if you were quick on there they would hold them for 30 days for you. That's how I get most of my bottle logic stuff.
I'm more curious as to how the fuck this made it out to California. It would be the equivalent of finding Pliny here.
Focal and Heady show up 1-2x/year for at least the last few years. And always during the first week of February, I think to coincide with SF Beer Week.
I’d assume it was fully carbonated and then sat in bottles for a while. I say that because I think they’d say bottle conditioned if it carbonated in the bottle.
Also, how the fuck did they get heady to California that was canned on 1/27. Jesus that’s a quick turnaround.
