Rare Vos, Witte, Joemmegang, Rosetta, Gnomegang, Adoration... honestly almost everything I have had from them is quality
local bar had a keg of Cigar City White Oak Jai Alai on tonight. Didn't last long, and it was quite delicious.
You ever find Chocolate Manifesto by Flying Monkey's, a brewery out of Canada, I say get it. It's a triple chocolate stout that is absolutely insane. Like, a chocolate cake shake. It's so intense, but it's absolutely a sharing beer since it's only in 750 ML's, it's impossible to drink. I had a snifter and a half and it started to make me sick, but as a chocolate stout, it's one of the craziest ones (in a good way) I've had that wasn't from Southern Tier.
Sounds pretty awesome. Looks like it sees limited distro in PA, I'll have to keep an eye out for it the next time I'm there.
I've seen Flying Monkey up here but not sure if it was this beer you're referring to, will keep my eyes peeled though
Had a Le Predateur from Off Color last night. Decent saison, but a further reminder that Off Color is becoming one of my favorite Chicago breweries.
I had a 2015 Deschutes Abyss and an Avery Twenty Three Anniversary farmhouse ale last night. The Abyss was excellent, thanks BigMike for the recommendation. The Avery tasted like sour candy. I probably wouldn't get that again.
Tried Southern Tier 3 Citrus Peel Out...I think I found my drink while I'm grilling this summer beer.
It's an outrageously decadent beer. They make unique beers but their flagship stuff is merely okay. Chocolate Manifesto is an experience which will either be "this is well done but I can't drink much" or "dear god this is way too sweet." They're from Barrie. Their cascadian dark ale is solid from what I remember, but I had it a while ago. Smashbomb Atomic is an alright IPA though it feels dated to me. No problem. Haven't had the Twenty Three Anniversary, so can't comment on that. The Abyss is great and only gets better as time passes.
I need to beg my cousin in VT to get me some; I've only had it once (and it was before I was REALLY into beer) and it was awesome. Feel like I'd enjoy it even more now. Apparently Dogfish Head 120 Minute ships to stores tomorrow...hoping I can pick some up Friday. Are they sold in regular sized bottles or larger bottles? Hoping to get a decent stock to age for a few years...
I really gotta try more Mikkeller beer, I've only had two including this last night and they've both been really excellent. Definitely going to take extra note of their stuff going forward
