Speaking of Great Notion, the Bay Area just got a drop of 3 of their kettle sours. Here’s the first one I’m trying — Jammy Pants with blueberry, raspberry, and marionberry. It reminds me of some of the Alvarado Street sours I’ve had, but usually those have lactose or vanilla to beef up the mouthfeel. This doesn’t AFAIK, but is still pretty thick and creamy. Doesn’t verge into complete smoothie-style however. I dig it.
@irthesteve i saw that pineapple sherbet from untitled art at my local store and was curious but didn’t pick it up on account of spending too much money on beer recently. But maybe I’ll cave after your glowing review lol
@waking season I’ve always wanted to try Mean Old Tom. It sounds really yummy, I think I’d actually prefer the vanilla to be subtle. @MexicanGuitars that’s the former head brewer at Jester King’s new brewery right?
Territorial Brewing in Battle Creek. They’ve won two gold medals and bronze now in their first six years as a company. I’ve loved German beers but haven’t delved enough into them so getting to drink crispy layers all day is glorious. Plus it’s the best working environment I’ve ever had. Swing through BC/kzoo sometime and we’ll get beers.
Going to Maine Beer Company tomorrow. Back when I could drink freely, Lunch was my jam. Going to grab some for my first drink for when I'm in remission.
Another one of @spiffa0 ’s cans, this is I Voted Today from Tired Hands. I still haven’t voted yet (planning on doing early in-person voting), but it’s a nice hazy pale ale. I’m a wimp when it comes to hop bitterness and it finishes on the bitter side. But definitely a good beer and love the message!
Probably my least favorite so far @djwildefire It's not bad but something about it doesn't click for me. I don't know hop types or anything but I can't recall having riwaka hops so I wonder if that's it?
Got a 6 pack of Maduro and realized it was canned 6 months ago as soon as I got home, bummer. I miss the beer stores in the town used to live in.
@spiffa0 aw, that’s unfortunate. It was one of @sean_rugy ’s favorites so different strokes for different folks, I guess!
Kinda. So they do a little distro but not much. I’m going to try to kickstart that but also help with some cellar work in the Brewhouse (mostly helping on canning days).
This rules. I found a beer shop today just over the border in Maine that has a lot of stuff we don’t get in NH. They get Bissell deliveries too, game changer.
They also had an entire shelf of Oxbow, lots of cans and big bottles. Definitely stocking up on payday this week.
