Yep, it’s the one you posted and your post pushed me to buy it. I didn’t need much convincing I guess LOL. I also realized I tried the OG single barrel-aged version in February for SF beer week and was really impressed. Picking it up on Friday.

So glad you liked it. I cracked a can tonight. DIPAs are not really my thing but this is pretty good. Nice mouthfeel, very hoppy, I didn’t pick up on the alcohol really, but it does finish bitter which I have a hard time with after more than a few sips. A bit of hop burn as well. I don’t drink Fieldwork much, I should get over to the brewery again, their patio’s open.

I liked it too, better than the fieldwork for my taste. It’s not really bitter, but still has a lot of hop flavor. I lived in Monterey for an internship in late 2017, I was over at the brewery all the time. Luckily, we see distro of practically all their beers up here so I don’t have to miss it too much. Their barrel-aged saison/sour project (Yeast of Eden) is really good too. I was down in Big Sur and stopped by their Carmel location. Had Internal Dialogue, an “old” saison, on draft. It was really impressive, VERY similar to a gueuze.

Also, just gotta say @ncarrab thinking Enjoy By was a pumpkin beer made my day haha

@spiffa0 what did you think of the hop cones? I thought it was solid but wasn’t blown away or anything.

  9. It was fine. It wasn't bad enough to never have again but not good enough to be a beer I'd drink regularly. A pretty standard IPA.

But now that I've had it I would love a whole parks and rec line of beers. Something aged in whiskey barrels to represent Ron, Chris could be a light beer or pilsner, Donna a nice stout, leslie might be a blonde ale, andy feels like a lager to me, etc

5th and final can from @sean_rugy , just got the bottles to work through now. Transmitter Brewing’s Spruce tip saison. At least, that’s what I assume it’s called, the can says “spuce” :crylaugh:

Anyway, at 4% abv it’s light and refreshing. The spruce is actually fairly subtle, it tastes more like a standard saison with a hint of pine. It’s not a knock-your-socks-off kind of beer, but I think it’s exactly as the brewers intended it. Good beach or summer bbq kind of beer.

I love spruce sours @djwildefire! Grimm does one around the holiday that rules. it’s definitely a subtle taste but it’s different for sure. funny you say summer because I only see them around the fall holiday season.

This really wasn’t sour, mostly just classic saison with a bit of spruce. The low abv and how refreshing it was made me think of summer but I could see it in the fall as well. The only spruce sour I can remember trying was Sahati from Ale Apothecary but it was very good. The spruce was at the forefront. I’d definitely like to try that Grimm one.

@waking season I had my can of North Sky a couple days ago, it was good. Do you know if it’s replacing Black in their lineup? Both are Belgian-influenced stouts

I believe they said it will be replacing Black but I’m hoping they brew it as a limited release every now and then. I liked North Sky though and love the can design.

third of the shipment from @waking season

very solid. i get so caught up with the coffee/chocolate porter & stout craze that it’s nice having a neutral, balanced profile in a porter every now and then

Glad you’re enjoying it! It’s one of my favorite traditional English-style porters but I haven’t had it in a while, I should change that.

Gotta appreciate a solid farmhouse, this one is so good. @BlueEyesBrewing, I started with this one before I give the barrel aged one a shot and now I'm more excited for it.
