Really good package. Coolship red is great, catalyst is wonderful, and I wish I always could have the farmhouse pale in my fridge. Looking forward to your thoughts on those, @irthesteve ! The mead looks great! I had a little picnic/share with a couple friends in golden gate park. Brought along Evil Twin’s Stoutee-Mate, a 13% imperial stout with toasted marshmallow and dark chocolate. Not what I typically drink nowadays and it was a bit sweet for me, but the alcohol was extremely well hidden. In short I really liked it but I think it would’ve been hard for me to solo dome the can, so I was glad to have a couple friends to split it with! Edit: forgot to mention, this is another one I received in my package from @sean_rugy !!
And now for a new saison from Cellador, Baril D’or brewed with cactus honey! It’s real good, pretty much epitomizes the type of beer I most often crave nowadays. Lightly tart, a little funky, complex but easy to drink. @irthesteve
@djwildefire when I was still physically going to work, Cellador was much closer to me than now as I work from home, but when I've been, everything is fantastic. That one looks really great.
It’s wonderful! We’re definitely lucky that they’ve started distributing here more frequently the last year or so. We see a lot of what they bottle, even some of the rarer stuff. Some of the beers they label “wild ales” are a bit too sour for me. Still good of course, but even more I really like their mixed-culture saisons. Have you had anything from Homage? They’re out in Pomona I believe! I’m dying to try their beers, I think they’re only gonna get more popular and harder to get
I've certainly heard of Homage, but I don't think I've ever had anything other than maybe a taster at a beer fest. I should take a closer look, my in-laws live out that way so it would be a really easy stop for a pickup
They look like port wine style bottles to me but wasn’t sure. But whenever I get a chance to start making some mead at home those are basically the bottles I’d want to use.
There’s definitely hype for their saison/sour program. Not sure what people think of the other styles they do. But yeah, if you do end up making it over there, I’d definitely be down to do a little trade. There’s some stuff up here that doesn’t make its way down south, so I think I could make it worth your while!
Definitely interested! Let me do some looking online at what their ordering system is like, hours, etc. But yeah, I think it's something we can make happen!
We played this in My friends backyard prior to it being a game you could buy with pvc pipes and glass bottles. Fun game though.
I played with someone who was way too into it and my hand was bruised up afterwards. It's a fun game though.
we've always called it polish horseshoes, and just use ski poles stuck in the ground. We always played you had to have a drink in hand too so you only had one hand to catch with
@irthesteve was very kind to ship me some stouts that I have been wanting to try. Packed up and arrived perfectly. Now if I had some time to actually drink the damn things.
Yeah, we played with the rule that you always have to have a drink in hand. It was a lot of fun! I can’t see the image but I’m curious what you received!
Getting this pack today and I am very excited Tree House Tasting Menu Mix Pack — Tree House Brewing Company
Live in SD.....almost all restaurants and breweries are dominated by IPAs and Hazy IPAs. Gets a lil old after a while imo, but there are a few gems that offer a nice variety.
an absolutely massive package from @djwildefire - you really outdid yourself! a perfect way to start the week. the packaging was professional and I’ll re-use that styrofoam mailer. I don’t know where to start! have had none of this. you’re a legend.
