Indeed. Both of those are probably my favorite breweries in the city (along with Half Acre and its many IPAs.)
Bought 2 four-packs and 11 individuals today after work and when the cashier rang me out I thought the total seemed a bit high but I didn’t say anything. Sure enough, on my drive home I took a closer look at my receipt and for one of the individuals, they charged me for the entire four-pack. So...Voodoo Brewery Venti better be worth $16
Idk if I used a fucked up glass or the beers are stale but Autumn and Promises to Keep left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Soapy
Damn, this is fucking fantastic. You know when you can REALLY taste the barrel it's been aged in? That's this, a really good bite to it, but a really smooth almost creamy beer. Bottle Logic ftw again. Don't adjust your television set! This Magnanimous Brewing collaboration stout decodes the chrominance signal of café de olla, broadcasting bold Mexican Bella Vista coffee and Ceylon cinnamon frequencies while malty hues of sweet piloncillo are saturated by beams of tequila and bourbon.
Got into my first of @sean_rugy ’s beers! Singlecut - Eric More Cowbell!, a milk stout with chocolate and vanilla. At 6.0% it’s very rich and slightly chewy. Basically drinks like chocolate milk, it’s pretty delicious. My minor gripe was that it was a bit undercarbed but didn’t affect my enjoyment much! Overall very pleased and only more eager to try the rest now!
I’m seeing (and buying) Singlecuts everywhere near me now, but I haven’t seen that one yet. Sounds good. I’m a sucker for milk stouts.
Yeah I’d definitely recommend picking it up if you see it! And it was nice too, because I’ve been gravitating towards the lower-abv stouts lately unless I have someone to share with.
They nailed it, just like lemon meringue pie in beer form. A tiny brewery in my town made a key lime pie sour last year that was similar and equally good. I’m all for well made pie inspired sours.
