Just replied saying the same thing, one of the standouts to me at Huna. Other highlights were 3 Sons Apple Brandy Kona Summation, J Wakefield Desperado, Angry Chair Lemon Fiesta, Jackie O's BA Dark Apparition, Smog City Cuddlebug and everything Casa Agria poured. Cannot say enough about them. You? What were your other favs? Best beer event of the year, IMO.
I happened to luck out & randomly was the 3rd person back in the right line when they tapped the Apple-Brandy Aged Vanilla Marshal Zhukov. That and the AB Kona Summation were the best two things I drank that day. Athena Paradiso was right behind it, though, for me. Living down here, I've become such a sucker for fruited berlinerweisses. My other highlights were: Mazurt's Islay Rye Mazurt Boneyard's RPM IPA anything from Civil Society Aardwolf's Sarah Lovely Dark Sour
Haha, I almost ignored it because of the label, but then I saw the description – "Belgian Style Imperial Stout Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels with Cherries" – and couldn't pass it up.
So jealous. But yeah, they don't do tastings at the Fort Point location; only the Canton one. I have a bottle of their Dialed In Anniversary DIPA that I'm (probably) gonna finally drink sometime this weekend; so excited.
going to one of the best liquor stores in the country tonight, gonna get some cool stuff and they have 5 dollar growler fills on some special stuff so yeah, excited
Destihl consistently puts out good stuff. I miss going to the brewpub when I was at ISU. I'm seeing Pig Destroyer tonight and apparently they'll have a special beer called Heathen Temple on tap there that Surly specifically brewed for their shows this weekend. It's a blackened hefeweizen brewed with "Midnight Malt" wheat and blackberries. I'm excited to try it.
I really like everything I've tried by them. I was sad I missed out on their Dosvidanya Imperial Stout, but this should be a good substitute. That Pig Destroyer beer sounds very interesting. I really like blackberries in beer. Which reminded me, I had a Dark Horse blueberry stout last week which was excellent: Tres Blueberry Stout
Expedition Stout only gets better with age, too. Smooths out that bitterness into wonderful chocolate.
State Line, right on the border of Maryland and Delaware Just spent 19 bucks for two growler fills and a make your own six pack
