Alright guys... I don't remember who originally came up with the idea a few weeks ago (Credit to them and if they want to take this over go for it) but I noticed nothing was done about it so I'm taking the initiative to do the dirty work. CHORUS.FM BEER TRADE I've created a Google Form for you to fill out if you are interested in doing this. Contact information A few things... I think most people were more into doing this once every 4 months or so and I think with how seasonable beers are, that's probably a decent idea. MY HOPE for this is that once we get a couple trades in with each other then we don't really need me to be a match maker since we will have connects with each other but if I need to be matchmaker, then as of now, I have the time to do that. Let me know if I missed anything on the form and I will add it. Once I get at least 8 submissions then I will try to match up people with styles they are interested in, etc. And no, I will not sell or share your contact information with anyone besides the person that will be sending you the beer. Also, it sucks to say this but I've been in other groups where it's happened but I am not responsible for if you send someone beer and they do not return the favor. They are a shitty person and obviously will be removed from the list. If you think stealing a few beers is worth being name and shamed on Chorus.FM then by all means but if you do screw someone over then prepare to be name and shamed on Chorus.
Signed up, as long someones a regular poster I'm not too worried about them not sending. I have to look at what I can get regionally that's not distributed elsewhere as I don't really know although there's definitely a ton of smaller breweries around me too.
Also if you're trading be sure to pay attention to can dates! It's always cool to get something like a Sip of Sunshine in a trade, but it's a lot less cool if that Sip is 7 months old haha
I’d suggest putting a dollar amount or oz amount so everybody is sending equivalent beers. Hate to be the guy that sends $100 worth of beer and you get a six pack back. I know it’s not that serious here but just some guidelines for people to adhere to.
4 miles they're on my shit list though, just for personal reasons I guess. I used to go all the time, it was my favorite brewery in the area. They had a unique look at beer, it was taking the belgian style and fucking with it (Monk.... ish). Some favorites were their tripel with pistachio & vanilla, dubel with rose hips, a holiday darker beer with spices... they had a sign in the tasting room that was NO MSG NO IPA. They had 15-20 different belgians on tap at one time and they were all great and different. They stood out as something unique in the area, and honestly in CA in general, no one was making exciting belgians like them and no one really is now. but then things changed. in 2016 they released an IPA with Other Half on April Fools Joke... but it wasn't a joke, it was a complete rehaul of the brewery. From then on it was a swift change to 80% IPAs with big releases and big lines, because that's what was popular and hyped. They all but dropped the begians from their menu, maybe 1 or 2 at a time now. Their tap lists are just the same beers with different hop variations, things you see from many other breweries, they lost what made them unique. but whatever, it was a smart business choice and they are undoubtedly making way more money now, so good for them I guess, just is a huge bummer to me now, I never go anymore and when I do it's overcrowded and annoying end of rant
I asked that question at the very bottom of the form. So I can see what each person is comfortable with to help match up like minded people in that regard.
i live only like 15 miles away from tired hands but yea lol i have to work/drive in the main line so often that the idea of using up a weekend day to run an errand there sounds fucking terrible even for world class craft beer. i mean my bank account is better off w it being a special occassion treat anyway ha
