Tons of bourbon, would be better with a little age I’d imagine. I’m partial to their vanilla variations but this is still quite good and at 9.5% it’s nice having a barrel-aged stout that isn’t ridiculously boozy.
I picked up one of those the other day and am hoping to have it soon. Glad to hear it's good as I've barely had any of their stouts before
a gift from some good friends on our supposed-to-be-wedding date last weekend. This was so fucking good
Picked up a mixed 4-pack of Burley Oak JREAM’s (first time I’ve seen them in the Bay Area) and a 4-pack of Almanac Hypernova (oak-aged sour with boysenberries and black currants). Super stoked to try them!
O M G I just got those exact same two coffee cans from Modern Times yesterday haha. The nitro one is damn good. That looks like the.... mai tai fruitlands? They were out of that when we went by yesterday. But yes, MUCH better. A+
I am a HUGE fan of the Nitro and I really really like the single origin over ice. yes to Mai Tai fruitlands. I’m in San Diego so I’m able to go to Lomaland (aka HQ) for pick up. Also ordered stuff that I’ll be picking up next week from their special release. I’m working still so was very happy to give my favorite brewery $100 for beer and coffee.
made my first Spaghett last night and it was delicious. highly recommended, especially as we get closer to summer.
Oohs and aahs Go flight Milking it I ordered two others but they had an inventory count issue so I wasn't able to get them. But it was their first week or two doing this. They'll get it figured out.
Haven't had Oohs and Aahs yet but I love that can art. Go Flight and Milking It are obviously both great. Today they dropped a new rice lager with Szechuan peppercorns that sounds great. Oh and also DDH YACHT JUICE WITH CITRA. Need that.
Yeah, I gotta do a full Modern Times order at some point. We were driving past Santa Barbara and just had the quick idea to drop in. It was really hard to figure out on our phones what was able to be ordered/picked up and no easy way to just read all available options, so we just got the coffee at this time. How does the ordering ahead for special releases work?
We got a keg of that and I honestly may just tell people it’s kicked and drink the whole thing myself.
Well damn, my wife got me this insane Russian River package for our anniversary, 2017 vintage bottles from the brewer's personal stash. 3 bottles of each: Supplication: Brown ale aged in Pinot Noir wine barrels for one year with sour cherries, Brettanomyces yeast, and Lactobacillus & Pedicoccus bacteria. Consecration: Dark Ale aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from local wineries. It is aged for 4 to 8 months with black currants, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Rich flavors of chocolate truffle, spice, tobacco, currants, and a bit of Cabernet. Temptation: Blonde Ale aged in used Chardonnay barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 9 to 15 months (depending on the age of the barrel) with lots of brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Sanctification: 100% Brettanomyces Fermented Golden. The base recipe is for a Golden Ale, but they did not do the primary fermentation with 100% brettanomyces.
4.2% sweeter than normal italian soda but that’s prob from the alcohol + added sugar but I dig it. But orange soda is a big nostalgic point of my childhood so I’m biased. Grabbed this at Whole Foods.
