What have y’all been drinking lately? I’ve been trying a lot of stuff in my fridge that’s been in there for a while. Kind of feel like the time for breaking into some special bottles is now!
We grabbed a revolution hero ipa variety pack. Galaxy hopped, Styrian wolf hopped, cashmere hopped and I think standard anti hero.
Almost made a beer run today but my gut told me to stay inside. Beer stock is running low and the only stuff left is beer that isn't mine. The beer fridge is open-sharing, but only so far. Social lockdown sucks.
Grabbed a 3 pack of Quarantine Machine growlers from Smog City (pick up only of course), had to support the locals
Cracked Cascade - Midnight Bramble, an Oak-aged sour with raspberries, ginger, and thyme. Not enamel-peeling like some other Cascade, but still a bit too acidic for my liking. Got it for a steal at $14.99/750 mL though, so I’m pretty happy with it!
I’ve never seen a cascade under like $25 out here haha. Has more to do with how far Michigan is from cascade but damn, I’d buy any cascade for $15.
Not typical pricing out here either, but I’ll take it! I would expect a 750 to run between $20 and $25, although now it seems they mostly do 500 mL bottles, which I see for $14-15
This is really cool of Dave to do for them, but, like, why is Wurstbar doing an auction when a raffle would raise so much more money lol. Charge $50 per entry, they'd make a ton of money for the staff. Also, Wurstbar has really, really good food.
Yeah I'm clearing out my fridge little by little. Lot of stouts. I also have a bunch of stuff from Hill Farmstead/Grassroots, Tired Hands, and Suarez that I can crack into when I need something that isn't the consistency of motor oil lol
lmao right? And someone willing to spend $300 might still have spent a lot of that money on multiple entries. It's going to top out eventually, probably around $500? They would have made so much more if they did a raffle.
Have yet to crack into the cellar just yet. Went to Threes the other day and bought two 4 packs and a bottle. Also wanted to tip my friend there a little extra.
Dogfish Head Scratch-Made Hand Sanitizer I love Dogfish Head and Sam seems like a genuinely good dude
That is pretty awesome. Apparently a small distillery here is making sanitizer and giving it out for free if you bring in a glass jar or something
