Sounds like OH is going to need a new process going forward. Feel like an eventbrite ticket is the best way to avoid the huge lines while still being mostly fair
Honestly yeah Eventbrite would be great, but if they don’t want to go through setting that up they could always literally just say “no chairs” lol. Like idc how early you want to line up, but if you’re gonna line up you need to be in line.
So much of the Other Half business model is based around release hype and people turning the line into an event of its own that there's no chance in hell they'll change their ways.
the other half gun incident was insane. but I don't know if OH will go the EventBrite route - there's literally a company in NYC that you can pay and they'll wait in line for you. it's unreal.
The article is over two years old now, but I think it does a good job of illustrating the problems with mules. Line culture is a thing, but it frustrates me that people are flipping beer as a part time job. Bottles of BA Bananaversary are selling for $250 online, with others going for $60+. Just a damn shame for fans who didn't have time to line up (EDIT: put your chair down) practically 24 hours prior to a release.
I really want to know, from a service stand point, how they think they're going to rim glasses with hot melting cheese.
FWIW when Stone did their pizza beer, it was during Comic con and they made it with Kevin Eastman, the creator of TMNT. It was... "A Pizza-inspired Saison: Stone Cali-Belgique IPA with sweet basil, oregano, thyme, fennel, pineapple, and jalapeño." I gave it 4 outta 5 stars, and everyone I was with was plesantly surprised that it was good!
