I have a problem with buying beer faster than I can drink it. A few weeks ago I made a promise to myself (actually more so to my wife haha) that I would finish all the beer in my fridge before I bought anything new. So now I'm probably drinking more than I should because I'm really itching to go buy some new stuff haha.
I had Figaro from Cascade last night and it was really, really great On the other hand, i had Pineapple Sculpin and thought it was HORRIBLE. I am more than cool with the grapefruit one, but I couldn't even finish the pineapple one. SO strong, zero pineapple flavor, just not plesant at all
I drank so much of that in college. There was a bar/music venue that always had tons of Cherry Wheat on special.
I had the pineapple and didnt mind it but absolutely agree it had no pineapple flavor. Tasted pretty similar to the grapefruit to me.
I was also thinking I might have had the extreme reaction from drinking it after the Figaro, which is sour and strong flavors.... but at least in grapefruit the flavor is obvious and the bitterness of it really works with an IPA, I just really disliked the pineapple
Cascade is definitely the king of sours, my girlfriend got me this one for Valentine's Day this year. We get limited distribution in CA, and they're pretty pricey usually
I had Long Trail Limbo IPA, Fat Heads Head Hunter, and Alpine Duet IPA last night. We also had a SA Rebel variety pack so I had one of each. The standard Rebel and Rebel Rouser are good enough.
In addition to my haul I grabbed a six of all the hard sodas. The root beer that I've had so far have all been fine, not my bag. I couldn't imagine drinking them all day, way too sweet. My buddy at the store said people are freaking out over the Henrys Orange soda
my wife likes henry's orange soda. it's okay but it's just something i'd have while grilling in the summer or something, and not more than one.
I'll be at Monkish tonight for a friend's bday, they have a lot on tap that I am super excited to try out Select Monk 4 quadruplew/ coriander seed 11.3% ABV Dark Night of the Soul belgian-ized imperial stout 11.1% ABV Olivia 100% brett blonde ale 6.8% ABV Soul Foudre biere de garde 7.6% ABV Vellichor wild blonde ale aged in an oak foudre 7.7% ABV
It wouldn't be anywhere near a top choice but it was ok (I also had 3 better beers before drinking it so my palette was certainly tainted).
Drinking a Brooklyn - Sorachi Ace. Not sure about it. Feels way to carbonated. Almost champagne like.
