I really need to buy a nice set of glasses. I don’t own a snifter or a tulip. Though I do love my chalice, and tankard

 

Taking a little mini-vacation with my days off this week. Heading straight down to DC after work tonight to get some beers at ChurchKey and stay the night. Then off to Richmond for the day on Tuesday. I’ll probably stop at Tired Hands or something on the way home on Wednesday.

 

Try and get to Aslin while you're in DC also.

 

I would also consider the Right Proper Brewpub in the Shaw district.

Obviously don’t need to list what’s good in Richmond, but fwiw, the Veil, Hardywood, Triple Crossing and the Answer.

 

Add Tabol and Final Gravity to that as well, and Black Heath if you like mead because it’s world class.

 

Went to Final Gravity last time I was in Richmond. Very underrated considering what else is there.

 

The Veil's funkhaust is really cool if you want to split a bottle with someone. Very chill.

 

Booking a weekend in Portland with some friends from college and we’re definitely visiting Allagash, Bissell Brothers, Maine Beer Company, and Novare Res. Going to be quite the way to end a month without drinking.

 

Try and hit up Oxbow too. There's a Duckfat at the brewery!

 

while you're at Allagash, I would recommend hitting up Austin Street Brewery. It's in the same little area.

 

The brewery itself is pretty cool but the beer isn't great. If I'm going to drink local I'm getting Tonewood.

 

That and Foundation. It's crazy that all three are right next to each other

Bru and Tradesman's announced their Sour Bowl and Stout Bowl lineups for next weekend. the Sour Bowl list is fantastic as always and the Stout Bowl list is good, not great. I'll probably just do the sour bowl.
