Grab some Tropicalia from creature comforts, Steve. Love that beer. What would be considered an old school ipa by today’s standards it’s just a crusher. Like if bells ever updated two hearted it’s what tropicalia is.
That's gonna be a really good time, jealous for sure. Make sure you log what you have and report back!
Creature Comforts in on my list of breweries I need to try. Hear their ipas and sours are amazing. Will agree with everything @Anthony_ said about J Wakefield and stouts. Will elaborate to say that they specialize in Florida Weisses, which are sours made with tropical fruit. Also for Bissell, The Substance is one of my favorite IPAs and can’t be missed.
One question I've been thinking about recently is: If you could pick one brewery in the country and permanently relocate it from where it is to your hometown, which would it be?
I haven't had any of Wakefield's sours but I really want to. Everyone up here only ever has their stouts and they only ever do stout collabs with places up here haha.
Keep your eyes peeled for whenever they collab with OH again. Poolside was a sour they did last year with coconut lychee and guava that was fantastic. Florida Plates was a peach pineapple sour ipa they did. Both great. Thought they would’ve brought it back with the Snowbirds this year but they didn’t.
haven't spent much time outside of the east coast in regards to breweries but I loved Pure Project in San Diego, very much my style. the others would be Jester King or J. Wakefield.
Definitely a tough question, because there are plenty I have never been to, nor ever tried, that are supposed to be some of the best. But I would really only pick something I have been to and know I love. My gut reaction is Great Notion or Cascade.
I've never had Cascade but I've had enough of Great Notion to know that they're one of the best in the country. Great IPAs, great sours, great stouts.
Hard question to answer about relocating a brewery to NYC. My initial answer would be Suarez, but moving into the city would change a lot of what makes it so great. Same for Hill Farmstead as well. I’ll rule them out. I guess my answer is either the Black Project or J Wakefield.
whoa, Grimm is doing a 5 course meal with beer pairings in a few weeks... this place will bankrupt me.
We’re launching Blight Seltzer next week. In 30 degree weather.....in January. apparently AB are spending a ton on marketing/advertising. The Super Bowl esp
That makes sense. Feels like if you’re not going to launch it in the summer, then the Super Bowl with all the eyes on those ads is a good idea. edit: for what it’s worth, I’ve heard they are decent.
It just makes no sense. Average at best brewery that don't even do well out here. I just don't get how they ended up at a fest on the other side of the country with a bunch of good breweries.
Honestly I think Magnify is pretty good and I'm still surprised they're on that list too lol so yeah it's weird Double Nickel is gonna be there
They didn’t give us any samples yet, BUT apparently the liquid is solid. I don’t think there has been a strawberry seltzer yet, but I wish they would get more creative with these flavors. Not just aping White Claw
