I have a nice Bruery shirt, Bruery bottle opener, Bruery glasses.... yeah that's about it

 

Picked up some Allagash Coolship Peche and the guy at the store said they have trouble selling them and they just sit on the shelves. It blows my mind that people don’t want to buy a beer like that, but I’m also happy that these good beers are almost always available haha

 

That’s a tasty beverage.

I think the one I’m most hyped over is the Bottle Logic collab, they do insane things with vanilla over there.

Sister got me a corked bottle of Allagash Tripel and a gift card to Craft Beer Cellar, probably going to get another Allagash big bottle.

 

Luscious is the beer I want to try from them the most.

I have a ton of brewery stuff but mostly it gets given from contacts through work. But I also bought a decent amount before getting into the industry. I won’t buy a beer-specific shirt but a brewery-specific one I would buy if it’s cool. Mostly I just waste money on glassware then use the same three glasses of mine I like the most over and over.

 

It's phenomenal. Brought a 4-pack of it back home when I went to VT earlier this year.

 

Beelzebub is really good too but Luscious is on another level.

 

Richmond is melting down right now because The Veil announced camping out isn’t allowed for their Black Friday event anymore and they won’t honor any unofficial lines set up elsewhere. Aaaaaand they have a $45 500ml bottle that’s limited to 70 and coming out only by raffle ticket. It’s going to be a hot mess.

Luckily I’m volunteering the event in the evening so I can avoid all the drama. The only thing I’ll be trying to buy is a really limited banana peanut butter mead.

 

I saw that post and honestly it just seems like good sense. They're just trying to limit the craziness. And really, there are easy ways around that rule anyway lol like camping out close to the brewery and making sure you're up early enough to get on line right at 6.

 

I understand the not wanting people to camp thing, and especially the fact that people keep sharing bottles on property despite being told time and time again that it could get them in huge trouble. The problem is that the kinds of people who would camp out or drink on the property are still going to line up somewhere, but it’s going to clash with people who want to jump in just at six all getting there at the same time.

Instead of taking it as a sign that maybe this year we don’t need an insane line just to buy magnums, I’m expecting it to get ugly. They always tread this weird line between thriving on hype and trying to keep it clamped down and sometimes that leads to people being terrible.

 

I think the fact that they explicitly said no unofficial lines will be recognized is important, at least from the perspective of their complicity in whatever altercations may erupt on the line. Like, nobody can fairly say "I've been here all night" when someone else jumps in front of them because that was explicitly discounted ahead of time. People will still say that of course but then those people need to be dealt with by the staff.

I just think they need to be really strict about throwing people off the property who break any of the rules or cause problems with people who are following the rules. The success or failure of this strategy depends entirely on how it's enforced.

Also yeah I mean the outside alcohol thing should just be common sense, like I get that people do it all the time but it is actually illegal in a lot of states and can get the brewery in question in a lot of trouble. People just really suck and are selfish and don't care.

 

Great Notion had to crack down on lines and asshole beer fans recently as well, the worst people of the beer community are truly trash humans and ruin the fun for normal people

 

Wish more breweries did raffles and didn’t recognize lines. Mad respect for the veil for that.

 

There's this one guy I've seen around a lot of places in NJ at big releases who just shows up like less than an hour before the release starts, strolls to the front of the line, and cuts in with someone who's been there waiting and "saving him a spot". Makes my blood boil every time. Like there's now someone further along the line who waited and won't get any beer because Mr. Big Shot Craft Beer Dude has to be the cool one who doesn't wait for hours like the rest of us. Legitimately hate that guy.

 

Maybe I'll see you in the evening if it's not too crazy. I remember seeing the idiots camping out last thanksgiving. I still have bottles from volunteering last year. Love seeing people get mad about this shit online. Most the beer being released is terrible if you ask me.
