Rochefort 8 in St Marks Square in Venice was 100% the best experience I had in that city no questions asked.
So apparently it is, BUT it’s just up to the distributor around you I guess where they place it. Either way it’s the best thing I’ve had from them in a while. Not a huge fan of their recent sours.
I went to Hill Farmstead on Friday and the only beer I had while there was a 3F bottle pour. Not sure if I fucked up or not. Did grab a bunch of bottles to take home though
fucked up a little would love to try Memoria. Hopefully you got some double galaxy cans. That beer on tap at parker pie was maybe the best ipa I've ever had.
You kinda fucked up because a lot of the stuff they have on tap/for in-house bottle pours only is some of their best stuff. But yeah if you bought a bunch to take home at least you get to have that.
The only cans they had were Society & Solitude #9 and something else I forget, I think the fresh harvest Nelson Sauvin IPA. My brother had the Memoria and said it was really good.
My boss is planning our imperial stout variants at the moment. Pushing all I can for coconut pleasssseeee.
Would be fantastic but my boss is a little old school. Finally made a gose/kettle sours after three years of asking. And now getting him to fruit the kettle sours at a high enough level to compete in the market is tough. But he was also a head brewer in like 2014 so his recipes are all pretty dated by today’s standards.
I’m pushing him for pie-inspired sours this winter. Peach and vanilla, cranberry and ginger, key lime pie towards the start of spring, etc.
If freakin @Oddpac87 would open up his Michigan brewery already, we could do a German chocolate cake stout.
lol I hear that. My one friend's brother and some of the other people who work at Icarus here in Jersey had to work on Jason (the owner) for quite a while to get him to finally do kettle sours. They've done a few now, all this year, and they've been great.
Yep. I have been asking for a fuckin crowler machine for over 18 months and now he’s like “I’ve been researching crowler machines and I think I am going to pull the trigger on one.” In April he said it wouldn’t increase to-go sales enough to warrant it lol
Had this Berliner over the weekend and loved it: And I have a 4 of this sour IPA waiting for me at home: It’s like they think it’s still summer (not complaining)
I love crowlers! especially if I'm out of town and want to take something home in my suitcase or backpack. you don't have to commit to a full 4-pack of something or deal with the weight of a glass bottle. big fan of the big can.
Especially when we don’t offer howler options. Only 64 ounce growlers are our only to go option currently. Learn from everyone. Some teach you what to do, some what not to do.
Could not agree with that more just as a general philosophy, but especially in the craft beer industry.
