North jersey folks, is Cypress brewing any good?

 

Super hit or miss. Worth visiting if you're local, but not worth going out of your way for.

 

Pollyanna celebrated its five year anniversary this week and put out a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with vanilla, which is delicious, and a Kellerbier that I’ll try later.

If you were tell me five years ago they’d have three locations in the NW, W, and SW Chicago burbs id have said you were crazy. Really cool seeing something homegrown stand out from the multitude of suburban and city breweries.

 

Month of September - up to 197 different/new craft beers in 2019.

You had me at coconut

 

They actually had this beer on tap the weekend they opened and it’s absolutely incredible, can’t wait to have it again.

 

It was 87 flippin degrees today in Chicago and we are nearly to stout/porter season. I need Märzen drinking weather

 

I love coconut and if I had a brewery my anniversary beer would absolutely be this one. Double digit ABV, whiskey aged.

 

You probably would’ve loved this one

Finally have all 4 taps at home with something on them
Left to right: Dry hopped Saison with white wine, peach and blueberry kettle sour, funk weapon ipa, and Irish black

That Irish black looks fantastic, perfect day for that kind of beer.

 

It’s not really a style I like too much, and mostly just make it for my wife’s dad/family, but every once in a while it hits the spot. An extra toasty Irish red

Now drinking. It’s 52 degrees out and this tastes exactly like banana bread. Other Half stouts rule.

 

Grabbed the two Oxbow Brewing beers that just landed in Michigan. Stoked to try them later this weekend.
