got tickets for the Veil's Zwanze Day just in time last night. super excited for it. second year in a row I'm going to a Zwanze Day and it's going to be a blast.
I want to try and go this year but haven't seen anything yet for tickets in the Boston/Portland area going on sale
@Anthony_ you were right... the bottle share is a part of the event Saturday and I do not have any bottles. also looks like it sold out!
Gotta get some stuff before then! Also check this out: You can find me by where he’s set up from when it opens until he runs out of beers haha. I bought the ticket mainly because this dude is going to be there. Will also post up by Hudson Valley for a bit too.
If you’re looking for more off the beaten path bottle shops to find some stuff I can point you in the right direction
First of all, wish I was gonna be there on Saturday. Would've been nice to meet both of you. Guess we will have to wait once I have time to plan this NY-NJ bottle share. As far as the info, I find a lot of these places have good bottles: - The Bottle Shop @ Threes - I've mentioned this a few times on here. Threes beer is good in its own right, but their buyer has great taste and gets things most shops don't. - Urban Barley - A little overpriced, but if you missed out on previous Grimm releases or looking for last year's Goose Island BCS releases, its good. Also has some other gems. - Beer Boutique - Surprised more people in Williamsburg aren't aware of it. Pretty solid distribution from all over. - Good Beer - Seems to get priority distribution for anything new that drops in NYC.
thank you! Beer Boutique was my go-to when I lived in the neighborhood although I discovered it way too late. will probably stop there on my way home from work.
The owners a nice but a bit strange. I also don’t understand why they do draft fills in what look like re-used sprite bottles.
I’ve actually had St. Lam once on draft, it was excellent! Really looking forward to trying it in the bottle. I’m extremely picky about IPAs - not generally a style I like. But I’ve enjoyed Aurora Hoppyalis, Fresh-Squeezed (particularly on draft), Pliny the Elder, and some of Firestone Walker’s beers. I’m much more into stouts. I’ve tried the mud cake once and I found it too sweet. Bomb!, Sumi Cacao, Big Bad Baptista, and Xocoveza are some favorites that come to mind but honestly there’s so many. I think Founders Breakfasts stout was the first beer I tried that I loved.
Barrel aged Sumatra mountain brown from founders is the truuuuuttthhhh. Worth a four pack, imo, easily.
Had a 3f Hommage last night and it was one of the best beers I’ve had in awhile. Also had a Suarez peach beer who’s name is escaping me.
