Tried my first claw a couple weeks ago and it tasted like carbonated Crystal Light. Wasn't a big fan of it
At my local liquor store, they were sampling some spiked seltzer with Stevia in it and it was absolutely disgusting
Sadly we are trying to push Bon & Viv, and we just can’t compete. WC has a stranglehold on the seltz game

Not what I drink, but White Claw really is pretty damn good for what it is. It's also like the least surprising alcohol trend of the decade, haha.
As an aficionado cause I’m pretty beer’d out I say white claw >> bon and viv >>>> truly naturdays are rad but pure sugar and natty light mixed. So I only want one at most. White claw is the highest selling ‘craft’ brand in America with the exception of blue moon and on July 4th white claw outsold everything in beer/liquor nation wide. It’s legit and a bunch of places are putting them on tap. Brewery here in Michigan is trying to get in on the game but clear coast by Perrin is brutally bad. I love white claw though and have zero qualms about it. But I also tend to have some sort of flavored seltzer water in my fridge before this explosion anyways so if course I was all in on this.
I'm not going to be around at all on Saturday though if these sell out before Sunday when they open at noon I will lose my shit for real for real
Oskar Blues is making their own hard seltzer now and of course there's a brewery opening a "seltzer-y" here with their line of hard seltzers. I am very here for this trend
What is your etiquette for rating beers on Untappd while in a smaller brewery if they aren’t good. Be honest or curve?
If it’s a place that just opened and I think they’re still learning their system, I probably grade on a bit of a curve. Otherwise, I try to be as honest as possible.
Yeah, I mean it's tough. I use untapped purely so I can personally remember if I like something or not, so at a new brewery I would be lying to myself. That being said, it's nice to be nice. Also, this hasn't really happened to me much so I don't worry so much ha
I try not to go below 2.5 at a newer brewery. Average at 3 if it’s drinkable. Tbf, I skewed my untapped rating for the first year or so of my drinking so basically a 3.75 or above is something I’d seek out again
