Have never found anything from Firestone Walker to be particularly special, but had both the 2018 and 2019 Parabola last night and they were fantastic
At Source, the new farmhouse brewery in Colts Neck, NJ. This place is going to be one to watch I think.
You had to be a member of their Origins group to go, or be a member’s plus one lol. It’s opening for real on Saturday. I’m planning to be there if you’re gonna go!
Unfortunately the brewery took money in exchange for goods and exploited the labor of the bar tenders but I went here today
Yeah, I figured it was either that or a friends and family type thing. Helping my friends move next weekend, but planning on making it there at some point if I can.
I've been working in beer stores for years now (kind of by accident, although I've always been pretty into beer), and it turns out that in the next month or two I have the possibility of becoming the beer buyer at my current store. Still not sure I want to do it (I've been trying to get out of retail for a long time, and was finally serious about making that happen this year), but I'm kind of excited by the prospect, especially because I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of me telling the owner that I want to do it.
If something like sales in the beer world interests you, being a beer buyer is a help. The amount of people I know who end up as brewery sales reps or distributor reps after time as a beer buyer is a lot. Leads to a job out of retail.
One of my friends from work went up to VT this weekend, he hooked me up Really stoked for the Anna dry-hopped with Motueka
That is a real friend. I just booked a trip to Maine for Labor Day. Hoping to make it to at least Maine Beer Co., hopefully one of Bissell or Oxbow too. Really want to make it up to HF when they drop another Flora. Those beers are incredible.
The Oxbow warehouse taproom and Bissell are like 10 mins from each other and both great spots and easy to get to from one another. Maine Beer is about 20ish mins north. Also, try to go to Novare Res Bier Cafe if you can because it is an amazing place
Portland is such a great beer city. Hit up Allagash and Foundation too if you have time, they are right next to each other
Appreciate the pointers. Need to find a balance between the breweries and giving my fiancé enough beach time. Also need to check out the Palace Diner, which is evidently the best diner in the country.
Made my first ever infographic for our store's newsletter. Thought I'd share it here where it might actually be appreciated. Very, very basic information, but I had a lot of fun making it, lol.

My local grocery store only had them in a 30-pack, which I definitely didn't want so finally found a gas station that sold a 6-pack of 16 OZ cans for...FOUR DOLLARS. I ended up buying two six-packs thinking people around the pool would drink them. I can't get rid of them. They're like, pure sugar. Not bad tasting, but just a very, very strong sugar/strawberry taste.
