So I live within 5 minutes of Threes. Definitely family friendly. The in-house food is spectacular. Try and get a spot outside if you can. And, to add onto @Anthony_ OH is worth getting to, but definitely not family friendly. If you want to split the difference, there is a very fun mini golf course within a 5 min walk of OH called Shipwrecked. Highly recommended.
I will be posting a picture of what I am currently cellaring at some point this weekend. But to give some insight into what is there: - Gueuzerie Tilquin, Firestone Walker, Other Half, Grimm, the Black Project, Suarez, Hardywood, etc.
I don't know what you're cellaring from Hardywood, but if it's Gingerbread Stout I would just say stop, it does not age well. I tried this experiment years ago. Just a heads up. Not to shit on your parade or anything though.
It is. It was a random bottle I found at my local Trader Joes in NYC, strangely enough. I have to wonder if their bottling conditions have improved since then, but your comment gives me pause.
Adjunct stunts don’t age well in general, IMO. But your mileage may vary. I used to have around 60 bottles in my closet but I’m down to around 5-10 total. I think like four of those are rodenbachs. These days, I’d much rather drink all my beers fresh, partly because a lack of storage on my part but mostly because I tend to not like aged beer as much as fresh beer.
Yo, I'll be in Chicago the second weekend of August and someone hit me with breweries that offer good belgian beer selections, please.
I am already cellaring an old bottle of Lilt, but damn that beer is so good. Hoping that Splish makes it to the Shop @ Threes this week.
