Interesting! Does Icarus distribute or are they can releases at brewery only? I ask because I like the name of Brux ipa as a brand basically but wonder how helpful it would be in a retail setting.
They don’t distribute outside of NJ unfortunately. It’s mostly can releases at the brewery and then they deliver some cans to a bunch of liquor stores here themselves. I bought that particular can at Imprint in Hatfield, PA though.
Small local footprint, so most people buying their stuff are seeking it out and know what it is, but that's a valid point. If I remember correctly, they've mentioned previous beers being fermented with brux yeast along with the rest of the grain/hops description on the can, so that'll at least help some people. EDIT: Probably should have finished reading the thread before I replied. ^ I think all the brux beers they've done have a description like the one above.
not a beer recommendation, but a local restaurant group here in orlando, someone is up there now and talked about how great this place is (and the yelp ratings are insane): Denver Biscuit Company - Real Southern, Real Good
In Lexington, KY and the beer scene is interesting. Had some really great stuff this afternoon at Mirror Twin (and they were playing Thrice!!!), and one very terrible beer just now at Fusion.
Good read, and I agree about Corona. It really needs a lime, BUT Modelo is so crisp. I disagree with his opinion. Now I need to try Sol. I actually never had it, and assumed it was a Tecate knockoff. Also bummed he didn’t sample Victoria. My fav Hispanic beer.
Yeah I was surprised she went with Sol. I had never had it before today so I figured I’d try it. Wound up loving it. Might be my new go-to, at least when the place doesn’t have Pacifico.
I wish Allagash distro’d to Michigan. Finally working my way through the beers I bought of theirs in November and they’ve been fantastic thus far.
