Shhhhh. Don't let the rest of the country know we have one of the best sour producers there is. I like how low key it still is.
I live like a half hour from there now so I'm constantly fighting the urge to go pick bottles up/have some drafts. They're so damn good.
That's the struggle with them and Troon for me. I'm like an hour away, so it's just outside of that range of wanting to make a "quick" trip just to pick stuff up. Secondary issue is Troon sells out in like an hour, so it's a real gamble trying for those, lol.
If you ever see anything they put out that interests you let me know, if I'm able to get extra I can get it for you. I can get there pretty often when they put stuff out.
I have hardly any experience with mead at all. I went to a local place once for a tour/tasting but it just didn’t catch my fancy. And like @Joe4th said, the price point is a little high to just pick up and try on a whim for me. I did find the process of making it pretty cool and I really should start trying some more.
Re: mead: I also recently just picked up a couple bottles of the stuff. Can't wait to try it, just been waiting for the right opportunity for it.
I know this is a very craft-heavy thread, but I’ve recently discovered how smooth Modelo Negra is. Very good.
Also I’ve been meaning to snag a Lagunitas Waldo’s. Always hear how for being an 11% it’s very tasty, and drinkable.
I’ve had a few cans of Labatt Blue recently after my dad gave me some leftover from a family thing and it’s pretty decent for what it is.
I can just picture you trying to take a pic of a beer in a lightbulb or some dumb Instagram beer shitpost when I scissor kick the camera out of your hand
Meanwhile in the background our assistant brewer is following my instruction to dump an entire 55 gal drum of lactose into the IPA we're brewing and my distraction worked perfectly.

homebrew people, I'm looking for some styles for the summer that I can do besides IPAs. any suggestions? I don't have the equipment to lager for six weeks at a specific temperature, unfortunately. but maybe a kolsch or a blonde ale? are these doable without the lagering refrigeration?
