That fucking sucks, hope the batch didn't get ruined. I really need to brew again soon, it's been too long.
I still enjoy IPAs but more and more often I find myself wanting a nice clean pilsner or helles lager.
That was my main worry as well, but had that put to rest when I got home tonight. Looks, smells and tastes like straight up jam.
I've hear great things about it. Came across a can of it once, but the canning date was so far back I did not want it to ruin my expectations, so I passed.
Just ordered 6 lbs of hops in an attempt to force myself to brew more often. Grain mill and sacks of base malt are next.
this has been pretty much my mood recently...though it's more towards lagers/pilsners in general. i've been really digging off color's you never take me anywhere nice recently. one of the better zwickels that i've ever had.
This has been one of my favorites lately too. Not sure what changed for me, but I keep coming back to it.
If you can get it fresh I recommend it. It has a pretty strong blueberry flavor but it’s not too sweet or artificial. Victory’s Prima Pils has been a go to for me. Not sure if it’s the heat or what but it’s so damn refreshing and easy to drink. Von Trapp also makes excellent lagers but they might only distribute in the northeast.
It’s always a good time to be in northern Michigan. Shorts was fantastic and I’ll be heading to Stiggs in Boyne City shortly
I was just in Boyne Falls in mid-june for a wedding. I thought Beards Brewing in Petoskey was solid. Heard great things about Burnt Marshmallow which is just a dude on a 1 barrel system on his farm. If you make it to Traverse City go to Hoplot. Best patio/outdoor area in the state.
My guess is that (so long as the retailer handled the beer properly which is a foolish assumption) the beer would've been fine, just the blueberry would've faded with time.
I made it to Beards last winter and loved it. We’re here for a wedding and on limited time but I’ll look into burnt marshmallow, sounds cool
Everything Half Acre puts out is at least okay...most of it being exceptional. There's a reason Daisy Cutter is my go-to beer when I'm out. I'll have to seek Dungeons out this weekend.
I went to Grimm's opening in Williamsburg last Saturday. I feel that their IPAs have fallen off a bit in the past year, and Saturday's releases did not shake that impression. However, they have been trying new a golden sour beer fermented with a mixed culture, which has really elevated their sour game. Just glad they are finally open.
U gotta swing down to Mousetrap one of these days. Also I didn’t anywhere in Kzoo because my buddy got a keg of Oberon and our whole group never left his house all day lol
