Excited to finally try them now. Also, not sure if you saw but we're getting Sip of Sunshine starting next week too. NH finally getting some distribution notice haha
I have an interview at Ballast Point this week It's just a hosting/running position, but it's a foot in the door to working with beer which is what I want so
Thanks dude. Honestly, just judging from the conversation we had on the phone, I have the job. I just don’t know how long it would take to move up, but I have management experience so hopefully that’ll work in my favor. I mainly want to bartend, but I would also love to actually become knowledgeable in the brewing process. I know what beer I love, but I would like to know why haha
Quite good. It’s nice having a New England IPA that isn’t super hazy (though I do love my haze bombs).
I’m really enjoying it but weirdly enough it’s reminded me of how much I miss Victory Hop Ranch. Don’t think they’ve brewed it the past few years.
I can help you out with some general brewing process explanations if you want, or can point you in the direction of some reading materials or youtube videos. Most of what I know and what I do is at the homebrew level but there isn't much difference other than scale at the commercial level. You could also look at the Certified Beer Server test and materials. If you get the job, I would ask them about paying for you to take the test.
@Dog with a Blog if you have beer questions on either the pouring or brewing or drinking sides let me know.
Thanks y’all. Like I said, I’d just start out by working in the restaurant part of the business. but it’s definitely my goal to get into the beer side of things so should I get there and have any questions I won’t hesitate to ask.
I usually feel really confident walking out of interviews but for some reason, I don’t know why exactly, but I feel like it went not so great. I feel like I would have been more into it if it was a management position I was gunning for. I dunno, we’ll see I guess
One of my good buddies lives in Stevensville and we hit up all these spots when I visit from Chicago. Super solid joints. He also recommends Watermark, which I have yet to try personally.
I have not hit Watermark. There's a bunch down there that popped up, including Silver Harbor in St. Joseph which took home Gold at the World Beer Cup for their Barleywine and they've won some other medals last year. So I really need to get down there for that.
Won't have a chance to actually inspect it and figure out what happened until I get home tonight, but I spent my morning rushing to keg a beer after the fermenter it was sitting in apparently randomly cracked overnight and it started leaking.
Visiting New York and happened upon a bar with cans of Headdy Topper, all my friend and I got some. Quite enjoyed it, from someone who isn't a huge IPA drinker
