Yeah, fuck that noise. Agreed on sours/maple syrup. Even then, I only buy cascade on tap or bombers I split with 1-2 other people to lower costs (they range $28-45 here, depending on what you're getting). It's crazy, though.
Anyone try Dogfish's Siracusa Nera? They just re-released it and my God. It's a perfect roasty Stout for this time of year.
This is impossible to do on mobile. I think I changed it to a link. New stout at Tired Hands today. Aged on maple caramel, bourbon soaked cherries, vanilla beans and cacao nibs.
Oh no, it was fantastic. 4.75 from me on untappd. Only thing that it really "lacked" for me was the thick, almost syrupy body that a lot of these beers have.
I'm glad that this one was worth it, and their beer almost always is. but they are definitely one brewery that I usually question the price tag. their stuff is crazy pricey. but people buy it, so they don't see any issue with gouging the prices.
What have they released at that price point that was just a BA stout with nothing in it? I've totally been okay with buying their stuff from time to time if my budget allows. They do fantastic stuff. Doug's also seemingly been pushing prices up and increasing production to slow the bullshit of people hiring homeless people to get around bottle limits (yes, that was a real thing. People have even shaved beards off to try to go through the line a second time).
I may have that wrong as I usually have their stuff second hand as opposed to trading for it myself. I just thought we had some at my shares that were priced the same as their other stuff. They maybe weren't the best example as I love their stuff and I know most of it definitely falls into what we were talking about with being loaded with adjuncts where I think the price is justified. And yeah, I've heard those horror stories about the lines down there. The craft beer community has some of my absolute favorite and most hated people in the world, haha.
In heaven at my local bar right now. Taplist has CBS, Hawaiian Speedway and Peanut Butter Cup Victory at Sea.
That leads me to my next question, is the Celebration IPA worth a pick up ? This is something I've been wanting to try for some fucking time.
Haha i've had that but still don't feel qualified to rec it. I had it basically at 10am the morning after my 21st bday in hopes it would stave off the hangover
Saw 7 bottles of CBS at the BevMo next to me, and 10 at Whole Foods tonight. I now feel silly running around to find one
Had Deth's Tar the other night for the first time and really enjoyed it. Going to pick up a couple cans of it tomorrow night.
