no confusion because of gender, just poor reading comprehension haha. Some of the most knowledgeable beer people I know are women.
I somehow missed those No Rules variants. Weird time to release them. Also, I have to finish up a trade with someone on here, so I'm hoping to get those beers purchased by the end of the month and then sent out. Yeah, he's finally seen that it's a money maker, even if he doesn't believe in them. I mean, he'll put forth his best effort, so it's not solely a money grab, but his heart isn't entirely in them, haha. Responded!
Much appreciated! I don't have much to trade at the moment, but I can always check stores if you're interested in something here, as well as compensate over the normal price for them.
I actually said to Dennis this morning that we should add some fresh hops to the package we're sending you. He happens to be going to Other Half on Saturday am. :)
Finally got to try it last year, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. But unless they were blending small batches of it for draft, that would have been the 2014 version, so I'd love to try it super fresh.
looking forward to Troegs' Mad Elf making it's return to my life soon, as well as Southern Tier's Warlock
I think Mad Elf is the only universally praised beer that I absolutely can not stand. I tell myself every year that maybe my tastes have changed and try it again and still hate it.
Pliny the Elder is overrated. Not sure if it's big everywhere but it's massive in the Bay Area and I don't think it's all that special tbh
I'm not huge on IPAs in general but I do like Pliny. Far from LOVE though, and there are so many other double-IPAs that do it just as well
It's not bad. I guess what's interesting is that it almost has a mythical status that surrounds it, and that's what I don't understand. Like it's hard to get and people freak out when they find it and I don't think people would like it as much if it wasn't hard to get, if that makes sense.
Pliny is incredibly well-balanced, and I say that as someone who doesn't typically like IPAs. I think it's an extremely well-made beer but I could see why it wouldn't knock your socks off. I think the status behind it is because when it was first released, it was ahead of its time. There are areas where it's difficult to find but in the Bay Area and SoCal, I see it quite a bit.
