At Firestone with my Dad. My work got me some discounts, and I really wanted to go on a tour. Though they're expanding their brewery so tours are cancelled. My dad bought a growler of UDBA. I got some merch, and one of their vintage 12.7 oz bottles. I'll post a pic and description if I drink it. I may give it to my co worker who got us the discounts.
I knew I should've taken time off and went to the Founders cellar raid. Multiple years of KBS on tap and for sale in bottles, CBS on tap, Bolt Cutter bottles, Nitro KBS, just ugh. I really hope I'll be able to get a few bottles of CBS when it's released this year.
Is CBS for sure getting released? The cellar raid was really good last year, but the star was CBS and everything else was "pretty good" so we skipped it this year.
Everything I've heard from reps/others involved with them have been saying CBS is the December barrel aged series beer. I'm still cautious, but it does seem like it's happening.
The Pasa Robles brewery. Absolutely beautiful up there, and the food at the restaurant was great. The growlers there are cool, there all stainless steel. They seal them for you. Even though we weren't able to tour I'm glad we went. Cool looking brewery.
That's awesome, I haven't been to that one actually. I've only been the the one in Buellton, a bit south from Paso, but that spot is amazing too. They have a full Barrelworks area which is totally my jam, some really amazing stuff on tap there
Hopslam is incredibly overrated. It's just not that good. Definitely not worth the price I've been seeing in local bottle shops in Baltimore- around $18/sixer.
Hopslam was one of the first IPAs that made me really enjoy hoppier beers. I'll always have a spot for it and enjoy it every year.
I like Hopslam a great deal but it is overrated. I think a six pack around Pittsburgh is like 20 bucks.
Yo, @Joe4th, one of my buddies drank CBS at Founders today and confirmed while he was there that it was the 2017 batch that he drank. So I'd say it's basically coming out this year.
Couldn't agree more. If you're going to name a beer Hop-SLAM it should be a slam of hops. Shit is barely there.
Either the quality of hopslam fell of the side of a cliff like five or so years ago or my palate drastically changed over the course of that year. Because I use to be stoked on that beer.
Might be palate. Over the years I've gone back and forth with it, the past few I haven't found it to be anything that I once thought it was. Don't think it went down in quality too much.
