Beersnobbin is the best. The stuff he gives away and the money he raises in the charity raffles is incredible.
going to a brewery tonight, will hopefully learn whether or not I have a hop/beer allergy or if it's something else wrong with me. Only beers I've had in the past few weeks were Narragansett and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and was fine, but I'm worried it's some of the more citrusy/IPA-type hops
That's insane! We paid I think $16 or $17. We buy a 4 pack every year and age two for a future vert. We're at 4 years now (2013 - 2016). Hoping we crack em after 2017s coming out.
If I had more space I'd be doing this with the big three seasonal stouts that come out in Michigan -- Founders Imperial Stout, Bell's Expedition and Dark Horse Plead The Fifth
Smog City is doing Infinite Wishes day tomorrow, which is their BBA imperial stout, and I think it easily stacks up to (or better) than the big names. Anyway they are doing a vertical flight so I'm certainly stopping by for it, it's also my birthday so they are celebrating me
I'm not quite sure what has happened to the U.K beer scene recently, but I love it. We've been flooded with amazing American beers (I can now buy Jai Alai easily and I live in a tiny village in Scotland) and to top it off, UK breweries keep making better and better beers, along with some great European breweries like Omnipollo and Mikkeller, it's a great time to be a beer fan in Europe.
On my menu tonight: New Belgium Voodoo Ranger IPA Sam Adams Hopscape Market Garden Brewery Prosperity
Was in Florida this past week. Drank a ton of Jai Alai, had the Hogs Head beer at Harry Potter world, Duff Dry at Moe's, some beer from key west brewing (not good), and Cigar City Maduro brown ale.
New Belgium continues to brew real quality beers. Just picked up a 6-pack of Whizbang, a hoppy blonde ale.
Perrin is coming to Florida. Perrin Brewing Co. Signs Distribution Deal with J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc.
I bottled the beer that I brewed in December over the weekend, a few weeks of bottle conditioning then I get to finally drink it! Came home with 54 bottles, I think I'm good on buying beer for a while, hah
Picked up two bottles of Founders Frootwood today. Interested to see how it is. I was surprised at how limited the quantities were. Couldn't even buy a full four pack.
Wow, really? My store had bombers for $12 and four packs for $16, so I picked up a four pack. Tons of it just sitting on shelves.
Figured that this would happen at some point, especially with Perrin brewing Jai Alai for like a month at some point this year. I'm assuming that month will be a test run for Cigar City in Michigan before fully signing on with a distributor in Michigan, which I'm excited for. Perrin does some decent sours. Their Grapefruit IPA is an O.G. fruited IPA, before Grapefruit Sculpin blew up and it's decent. I really enjoy Perrin's Black Goat which is a double version of their black lager and then aged in bourbon barrels. Big, boozy but not overly chewy, so best of both worlds.
Interesting. I bought the four pack so I can split one with my girlfriend and gauge the sweetness, then can just set the rest aside for a while.
I was hoping to grab four but settled for two. One fresh, one to sit on for a while if it's too sweet.
I have 1 bottle each of 120 Minute and World Wide Stout. Not sure if I should drink them straight or try and make a Heaven and Hell.
When I was up at Seattle I had a blast at Fremont, it's one of the biggest ones up there but they have a ton of games and their beer was pretty solid. They have one called Abominable, and variations on it, that's really really great. I really wanted to make it to Holy Mountain, but didn't have time. Went to Elysian twice, which was definitely enjoyable. Rueben and Stoup were two others my list we didn't make it to... umm if you like seafood you NEED to go to The Walrus and the Carpenter, one of the best meals I've had over the past few years
