The Beautiful Mistake Band

Anybody remember these guys? Their first album was pretty popular, but their follow-up didn't sell very well, likely because they did away with the screamed vocals. I admit I was one of the people that hated the change at the time, but it's actually a pretty excellent album.

 

Really dug this band. This Is Who You Are is a really cool record. Light A Match was really good to. I think my favorite song is A Safe Place, but I can't totally remember. Very underrated band though from that era.

 

I hear about them for the first time! And yes they really cool guys!

 

Just seen this. Incredible band.

'Fragile Fingers' from their EP is my favourite song. They packed a lot of emotion into that song.

This Is Who You Are is a fantastic album, it has a really cool 90s alt-rock/space rock influence. I think they were listening to a lot of Failure when they wrote it.

 

Oh man, I've been waiting for a reunion for ages. Too bad I don't live in Anaheim.

 

Totally forgot about those reunion shows in March. Just saw this video on their Facebook and made me remember how much I loved their music:

 

This would have been so cool to go to. I saw them in Minneapolis with The Myriad probably 14 years ago now and it's still one of my favorite shows ever.

 

They're sadly one of many bands that never made it to the UK!

I'd take some new music right now though if these shows have given them the motivation to write together.

Clip from a new song at the 45 minute mark. New EP out early next year, with an LP to follow. Sounds really heavy based on the clip.

This makes me want to go back and listen to other bands like this from that era that I totally forgot about, like Recover.
