I've listened to all 77 albums on that list aside from like, 2 Paul and 2 Ringo albums from the 2000s that I haven't gotten to yet. It's a lot of music haha
Those 3 recent Ringos I've heard were all no's from me. He's genial and likeable, but...they didn't need me spending money on them.
Unfortunately that's kinda Ringo in a nutshell post-Beatles haha. Always made very nice and enjoyable music, but it never really was... required listening. I at least give each one a single listen just because, but he's far and away the least impressive solo. I saw him live a few years back though and that was great fun!
this run through had me more into the ringo songs than I have been in the past. connecting them to his country fandom helped. don't pass me by is a country tune.
"Rain" is one of my all-time favourite Beatles tunes. that colossal bass sound is absolutely ridiculous for, what, 1966?
I’ve got a lot more work to do on the solo albums. I’ve only listened to All Things Must Pass for George, a couple John albums once, no Ringo, and on Paul I still have to listen to pretty much everything between Tug of War and New. Think I’m going to prioritize George this week
Lucky for Georgie, it's only that way because it's a soundtrack to a movie. Of course he really takes flight in All Things Must Pass
I need to get more into the solo material and Wings as well. Speaking of, what's the general consensus on the best Wings album?
Band On The Run by far, but I think London Town is pretty underrated. Each album has at least a few hits
I think I love George’s solo stuff the most of the four Paul always had good songs but so much volume haha.
I really love John's first few solo albums honestly, all three (sorry Ringo) have solid arguments. Paul has longitivity and would have the most stacked Greatest Hits. Plus, he gets an edge, ya know, actually being alive and having an amazing late career run with his latest albums. All Things Must Pass is probably the single best solo album, and he's consistently good after that, but rarely hit GREAT again. John was the most experimental and his first few solo albums are really well crafted, if he wasn't gone too soon, who knows what would have come next
Guess I’m going to have to check that out tomorrow From George - I listened to Living In The Material World a few years ago and just loved some of that stuff so much too. There are some awesome tracks on that album too
George's self-titled is really nice as well, "Blow Away" and "Here Comes The Moon" in particular are great tracks
All Things Must Pass isn't just the best solo output, it's straight-up one of the best albums in the whole Beatles canon
did wonderwall music, two virgins and electronic sounds last night just the toughest of hangs. insane they were made within the period of the bands best output
