Yeah the Academy voters must have really thought they were voting for season 3 and not season 2 because I didn't expect this to lose best comedy series at all.
I like the first two albums as much as the next person, but I can't remember a show using so much of one particular bands' music unless that band existed within the show.
It is easy to see why season three was received so differently. It is almost anti-narrative compared to the first two seasons. The standalone stories in single episodes is obviously influenced by Louie and Atlanta, and it might be the best season so far.
They've set the bar high. I expect no less than Long Time Sunshine playing while Carmy looks out the car window on a rainy day next season.
