just finished this morning. really did not vibe with this season outside of a few moments. I understand grief is a part of this show but this just felt too sad and melancholy? hooting and hollering when Getchoo started playing. when Berthanal shows up in Tina: Origins it really is crazy the aura he brings around him in such a limited role. one of the current greats we got around.
also kinda peeved at the To Be Continued. it's the end of a season you don't need to add that unless we're expecting the next batch to be season 3 part 2.
You should definitely watch it, it’s a good show. I think it can be a little over the top with the drama but it’s got plenty to love about it.
Yeah, I can listen to a conversation about how it’s not as good or what issues exist within it, but to say it’s just bad is just trying to signal “I’m so cool and above it.”
It's never going to change, but I truly hate how much conversation about a show boils down to just which season is better than another. Every show, no matter what, that's where the convo goes when it's over. Just comparing and ranking, very little actual worthwhile discussion
One moment I really loved is the conversation with Sweeps about his baseball career in ep 7. That was a great heartwarming conversation that felt very real.
Why not both? Seasons in television shows are unlike anything in other art forms. Actors might come and go, writers and directors come and go, budgets change, and network notes and interference changes. We get to see the showrunners and writers reflect on what worked and what they wanted to do different, and we see evolution you wouldn't see over the course of a film or an album. It is almost as significant as the different films in a directors' career.
Finally started season 3, first episode is way better than everyone let on online, dunno why it got such a bad reaction
I’ve been out of work for over five months and this episode is making me pumped to start work again next week at the nicest restaurant I’ve ever worked in I’m pumped
I honestly wish they leaned harder into this season just being vibes. Should’ve just been vibes, flashbacks, and Ice Chips.
Someone said they didn’t like the first episode because it felt like a season recap that never ended I said I wish more image based mediums relied on vibes more than plot and they told me I’ll love this season then lol
They experimented with the form a lot this season and I appreciate that way more than keeping everything static, predictable, linear, something that makes audiences feel safe and cozy without broadening their expectations.
I love this show and enjoyed a lot of this season but S3E1 felt like a glorified recap episode. It did do one thing right which was to set the tone. A mellow and contemplative season.
