Any good podcasts or write ups on this show per episode? I know that’s not common for the binge model but I haven’t finished yet
Between having Joel and Gillian, and Richie saying "we're gonna be streets ahead", is Storer a Community fan? Lol. EDIT Oh holy shit, Gillian and Storer are in a relationship lol. It all makes sense.
Already rewatching the show because we loved it so much. Jimmy's reaction to the Xanax spiking has me fucking crying laughing, when they pan the camera to all those bodies, lmfao. "Are they dead?" "No..? I think they're... sleeping" "Actually, I'm kinda into it"
I googled who the music supervisor in this show is and found out Storer and another producer Josh Senior decided to just do it themselves to save money, and honestly I think it makes it so much better and personal.
I also love how they incorporate NIN/Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross scores into the show. They’ve used cues from their score from the movie Waves and their last instrumental NIN record Ghosts V-VI, particularly in the last moments of the finale with “Hope We Can Again” I did think it was slightly strange to hear The Day The World Went Away (a song about Trent’s grandmother passing) playing during the Carmy/Claire sex scene but I wouldn’t call this show conventional anyways. I have noticed we never get to the drop in New Noise but I’ve assumed they’re waiting til the end of the series to finally get there, which could be cool.
Damn I totally forgot the ending of that episode, which was badass ugh. Nevermind then I was going off thinking that article was recent.
I listened to all of The Ringer podcast episodes (The Prestige, The Watch, and the Bill Simmons Pod all did their own reviews) on this season almost all of them said that JLC was the only performance they didn't like and I don't get it.
A few random thoughts: The amount of Eddie Vedder in the last few episodes is just right, although more would be ideal. Some of the menu choices were wild. especially the t-bone. It's fun to see how much Will Guidara/Eleven Madison Park influenced the chocolate banana.
I know you obviously want to eat at restaurants with clean kitchens but something about seeing the kitchens made me think of like a laboratory setting. So sterile. I guess I’m just romanticizing the greasy, over worked kitchens of years passed.
