Slower on watching this usual (it feels like it deserves that) and holy shit episode 7 lives up to the hype
About 13 minutes into this first episode my fiancé said “this show might be too stressful for me” and I was just sitting here smiling like the sickos meme
I never truly understood the kitchen stories my dad would tell me about him freaking out after something went wrong pacing around in the walk-in freezer by himself just saying "fuck fuck fuck shit fuck" over and over trying to figure out what to do until watching this.
I’ve only been able to watch 2 episodes but I’m glad to see this is getting some hype. I love Matty and Lip and having a show set in a restaurant that feels real is refreshing.
I'm three episodes in and it's pretty great but my main takeaways are 1. whoever chose the music for this show did a phenomenal job and 2. I want one of those sandwiches so fucking bad
His Chicago accent was great too. just want him doing a different American regional accent every role he's in. I hope he nails the Minnesota accent next.
I think I didn't blink once during the first episode. I had thought of Via Chicago by Wilco when I started it so when it came on it was a treat. The Snyder cut joke had me dying. So many treats in this, I'll try to savor every episode I have left.
Marcus is adorable in how he just jumps into making the best desserts. his fermentation station > leone’s Matty just seems happy to be there and Ayo kills it. only knew her from Blank Check guest spots before.
Finally finished. God damn, what a great show. The end “twist” was pretty silly but I had a big smile on my face the whole time. hope we get season 2
Exactly lol, when I saw the recipe I immediately said, "the small tomato cans have some secret thing in them" but still loved the way they did it. Also, I don't know why, but I thought earlier in the season they mentioned that Carmy and Michael were twins, idk where I got that
This has to get a season 2. 85% of the show takes place in one setting so the budget is probably nothing compared to most other shows.
