I didn’t like what she was doing her first couple episodes specifically because it was so close to being a straight up impression of someone in my life in a way that eventually was incredibly effective to me

 

Season 3 has 3 of my favorite episodes of the entire show (Tomorrow, Napkins, Ice Chips). I think it's very good.

 

I think I said this before but considering fine dining gets mocked frequently and this could easily go down a satire of it type lane, I enjoy it as a genuine love letter to michelin quality food. I get it's not for everyone (even if they have the literal money), and in this era of capitalism of eat the rich, it's so out of touch for the average person, but I still can't get enough of it. Food is really an art for me and I could watch chefs give smell their own farts pretentious ass monologues on repeat. (Not that that's how I see - it's a skill, a talent, and fascinating for me to be in that world).

 

This show has some of the best acting I've ever seen from JLC

 

I think during season 3 I disliked the ice chips performance from her bc it felt like a 180 and different character from forks but rounding out the character with the season 4 performances with the character made the episode make more sense and I appreciated it more

I was going to say, if you feel JLC is overacting you should be thankful to not have someone like that in your life lol

 

i don't think i need to have an unpleasant person in my life to think she's giving a bad performance

 

You don't, most people are able to recognize good acting without needing to interact with a person exactly like a character.

 

How do you feel about Janice Soprano?

 

My wife cannot stand the episodes she’s in because of how much she feels like she’s a dead ringer for her mom lol

 

I simply watch Da Bear and enjoy it, not much else to say

 

The Pitt and The Bear should have a crossover ep so I can say Da Bear Pitt.

This would have definitely happened in the 90s or 00s. NBC would have made it a live episode.

I still haven't watched the latest season, someone quote me after watching this "prequel" episode and let me know if I should watch it before the season, or after.

There it is! Been wondering what happened to this episode. They filmed it last year with season 4, was listed under Emmy submissions but was no where to be found when the season came out. Pretty cool that it’s just gonna be a stand alone now.

Phenomenal episode, fucking dark

 

Truly don’t think it matters. Pretty removed from anything happening in the story, don’t even think Carm is mentioned. Just a good little character piece for Richie/Mikey.

 

Gonna start a series rewatch soon before the final season and I think this new ep is gonna be a great place to start.
