TBH Season 3 felt kind of slow and pretentious to me iirc. Storer focused too much on making pretty shots over gripping story.
Yeah agreed 3x1 was a magical episode of TV, but too much of season 3 was real life chefs doing some of the most smelling their own farts pretentious ass monologues I have ever heard. Also wasn't a fan of Fak stuff that season. The Cena guest spot was a big miss for me. Season 4 bounced back and refocused though.
Also ending this this year is good timing. The 3 main leads feel like they are right on the border of breaking the point where they're too big of names for this show now.
It had some good episodes but as a whole felt inessential and with the talking point that storer originally intended for s3/4 to be one season it’s hard to imagine any storylines from s3 taking up more than three episodes of a combined season
I didn’t agree with Josh when he said it and think he is wrong about her in the appearances in this show but given everything she’s done in her career the last few years, and boy it’s a lot of dogshit, I kind of agree now
not a bit. anytime anyone brings up the hospital episode and praises it i roll my eyes. she's doing too much in every appearance on this show. i don't think it's a good performance
I liked the wedding episode in season 4 a lot. Man maybe I need to put together an episode ranking for this show.
JLC is very good in the show, and I think she does a terrific job at capturing a real kind of person that exists and that I have interacted with.
Do you guys think Michelle Pfeiffer would have done a better job in that role? For those that don't know that is who Storer originally wanted for that part.
Yea, I don't get it. She plays a very realistic character and she's great in developing Carmy's personality knowing that's his mother. I don't get any overacting or anything else. Still pretty warm on this show, no real dip in quality or enjoyment for me yet. Not sure it has too much left in it, but another couple of seasons and done would be nice.
There's a real vulnerability and sadness inside of her character that she is able to get out on the screen. Reminiscent of Aya Cash in You're the Worst.
