Eternals, Shang Chi: Legend of the Ten Rings, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The Suicide Squad, & The Batman. Should be a fantastic comic book movie lineup. Here's to hoping Spider-Man 3 can end it off with a bang.
People have been talking about the trailer giving them Se7en vibes, so now I think I need to watch that movie. I’ve heard great things and I know I’m way behind and probably have no real excuse as to why I haven’t watched it.
I honestly disagree, at least about Joker. He's way too essential to Batman's character to be ignored imo
Red Hood would be good, a film with Joker as the secondary antagonist, but they would have to introduce Robin for that.
It’ll never happen, & maybe couldn’t fit this iteration, but I’d love to see a proper live action Batman & Robin finally happen. I think Dick Grayson’s origin is traditionally a “year three” development, so it’s not like the Patman is way too young or whatever. Just a tricky thing to get right tonally, & I guess not something really in the modern Batman zeitgeist.
Looks pretty good so far. Wild the teaser had a lot going on to say it’s still two years away. If I hadn’t of known any better I would have guessed it was coming out next year.
I think I'm going to nose dive into some Batman comics for the next few weeks. Watching this trailer has caused a thirst. Any recs would be helpful.
Court of Owls/Night of Owls. I'm not 100% sold on Snyder's run on Batman, but that's a fantastic arc.
Anyone read the novelization of the Court of Owls? I keep seeing it and thinking about picking it up. They also did one for Killing Joke.
I don’t think I’d want to read a novelisation of a comic arc to be honest. I wonder if there’s any extra lore added in though. Death of the Family is one of those arcs that always gets quoted as being amazing but I found it quite boring. The covers were the best part of that run and the ending was hampered by Snyder wanting to jump straight into Zero Year which sucked. My favourite Batman/Joker comic is Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth
Apparently takes place after the 2 comic arcs (Court of Owls/City of Owls) from a quick look at some reviews.
Are any of the original issues of the new 52 worth anything? I think I have almost all of the first few issues of every main series.
