Farrell is so fucking good, man. Like Brad Pitt, he’s a character actor cursed with a leading man face. But he’s a total freak in things like this. I am psyched.
The Batman didn't age too well for me, but I love how Matt Reeves' Gotham City looks and Farrell is great so I'll be watching
Y'all are blasphemic. This looks great. The Batman is still phenomenal and the best thing WB/DC currently has going.
The first two acts of The Batman are amazing. I do think it gets too long and formulaic in the last act. Overall great movie and I have faith in Reeves
I think the comments on the third act is valid, but the moment of the woman grabbing Batmans arm as shes afriad to leave him at Something In The Way plays is so amazing against the opening where the guy says "don't hurt me"
I honestly don’t remember any problems with the third act. The biggest problem I can pull out is that the movie is three hours, which is awful for my ability to casually revisit it. (Let cape flicks be shorter please!) But even then, none of it dragged for me at all when I was watching it on the big screen.
Only part that kind of dragged for me was the "Waynes being corrupt (but not really)" tangent that was introduced and wrapped up over like 15 minutes with no real consequence to the rest of the movie
Only complaint I had with the third act is that it feels like the studio stepped in and said “we need something big and action packed. Let’s blow shit up and have chaos with a flood.” Outside of that, no issues. Still an enjoyable part, but feels a little out of place compared to the first two acts.
Exactly. It made no sense with the rest of The Riddler's plan and the theme of the movie. It totally felt super blockbustery in comparison to everything else
Idk, I thought the flood was a neat angle. And I think the Riddler’s plan having contradictions is a feature, not a bug; of course this unhinged weirdo would be mad at systems failing him and then enact a destructive plan that just hurts other vulnerable people instead of those responsible for the systems. Speaking of systems, the one actual egregious shortcoming I forgot earlier was the dang copaganda, lol. But that shit’s unfortunately kinda standard for a Batman movie. Alas.
