What’s puzzling to me is given the popularity of the Joker why was his look revealed in a deleted scene? I hope it’s because Reeves use of him will be little to none and he will focus on other villains
Honestly, this take didn't do anything for me. I don't like the look that they're going for, and he felt too low key. Maybe that's because my favorite take on the Joker will always be Mark Hamill and that version loves to chew the scenery, but I loved Ledger's take too and this still feels off from that. I don't get a sense of "wow, this guy is crazy". Then again, it is just one scene.
“He's got this congenital disease. He can never stop smiling. And it made Mike and I think about — I was talking about The Elephant Man because I love David Lynch. And I was like, ‘Well, maybe there's something here where it's not something where he fell in a vat of chemicals or it's not the Nolan thing where he has these scars and we don't know where they came from. What if this is something that he's been touched by from birth and that he has a congenital disease that refuses to let him stop smiling? And he's had this very dark reaction to it, and he's had to spend a life of people looking at him in a certain way and he knows how to get into your head.’"
I definitely would've rather had this scene than the "Bruce learning about what happened to his parents" side quest
Gordon walks into a room where some bad shit happened, looks at Batman "Jesus Christ" Batman looks at Gordon back stoically Gordon: "I think it's time to consult...him." cut to: that scene gimme my paycheck please
100% agree that this scene should have been in the movie. I liked the Arkham scene at the end too so I'm fine with both being in it but if I had to choose one it definitely should have been this one

Scene definitely should have been in the film. I think the take on him visually could work, although I worry it will be too grungy overall. Wonder how much he will be used in the sequel. as far as the dialogue, I thought it was solid. The voice and laugh might need some fine tuning.
I like the scene because it makes the world broader. It feels comicy* in that these villains aren’t sequential but instead a gallery of threats. Just throw me into the depth of Gotham/Arkham…I’ll figure it out.
I mean, there was nothing in the actual movie to identify that, so it's not like they couldn't still make it Venom if they wanted to go that route in the future. They probably won't, but still, the option is there.
Sure, concept art isn’t canon necessarily. But it does show the original intent was that it’s not Venom.
