To me it really depends on which universe we’re seeing him in. If we’re really being honest about him, he’s just a dude that’s rich and nuts with combat training.
I didn’t think you necessarily meant MCU vs dc , though those are the two major players when it comes to super hero films. I agree that DC tried copying the MCU, but they also rushed it so of course it didn’t work, not to mention some awful writing and takes of Superman and Batman. I’d easily put this above No Way Home. I liked No Way Home, it was a big step up from how awful Far From Home was, but looking back on it I think only the last act was great. And that is largely due to nostalgia for Tobey and Andrew and their chemistry with Tom. Where I think the Batman is great all the way through. superhero movies can be a lot of things. As long as the core focuses on a superhero, they’re good to go do whatever they want.
Being the worlds greatest detective means you have extraordinary skills. Those extraordinary skills can make you a superhero by definition if you use Merriam Webster.
Also, one more thing about the film. Where did the Riddler obtain all the dirty info on the city's politicians/GCPD? Did they mention this briefly and I missed it?
They didn’t go to deep on it, but he was working as accountant and found a ledger about Renewal and put the pieces together through that.
does this movie or any batman movie ever spend any time at all showing his detective work? detective procedurals are fun and I dont recall that in any of the old movies.
There’s two Nirvana moments but it’s like scoring a scene, it’s not like he’s listening to them specifically. He does wear eye makeup when he’s in the outfit, but it’s def not mascara.
"Something in the Way" is such a badass song to begin with and I would agree that I thought the usage of it was pretty awesome.
Definitely what I wanted out of a Batman movie. Just solving crime, delivering absolutely fatal blows but still pretending he never kills anyone, a creepy villain. I think some parts dragged a bit/the pacing felt off and even tone felt a little off at times towards the end (they also seemed to try really hard to make us think Batman would die even though they already said they're planning a trilogy). Also Batman has rage juice AND a rage juice hole in his suit? That's pretty coool
i really enjoyed seeing batman learn to be batman. it was nice seeing batman going through some growing pains. from the tools and gadgets aspect but mostly how he learned why his method was failing the past two years. the scenes after he makes that realization are cool... that flare scene looked good.
