Yeah I had my second viewing in IMAX today and it was a hell of a ride. I’m going to try to see it again in IMAX one more time before it goes.
I would like to see the Penguin is the best line in this or any movie Bruce and Selina as kindred spirits worked really well I love that the connection to the Nolan films is Peter Sarsgaard I wonder if they filmed in London for the rain Martha's last name was way more cringe than the Barry scene It didn't feel too long for me and there was a lot of ground to cover and yeah all the performances were great
I am not sure if I like Selina being the daughter of Falcone. Seems to detract from her character meme than other versions. It’s an interesting take on her though. Has that been done before?
Catwoman in the comics has had multiple origins. In one run she did suspect she was Falcone's daughter but it was never confirmed. In a more modern run, she was the daughter of another crime boss that Falcone usurped. It kind of depends on the writer and the time period, I guess. Definitely not a new angle though.
It's more or less determined Falcone is her father in Catwoman: When In Rome, a sequel/spinoff from The Long Halloween, which itself is a clear inspiration for this film. Edit: What Penlab said.
Interesting. I’m not a huge fan of the character in general and wouldn’t be crushed if she didn’t return for future films. But I will say that Zoe K did a great job with the portrayal.
also I feel like it would have been really easy to find The Riddler no one else owns like a dozen rolls of duct tape
The police couldn’t find Batman after an APB was put out on him and he had a giant spotlight. Safe to say they’re not too bright.
Thoughts… A lot more grounded in reality than I expected. Zoe Kravitz and Pattinson did an excellent job in their roles. The Riddler’s killings reminded me of Jigsaw. I’m not too happy we’re getting another Joker, but I like his Joker voice so far. I’ll give it a rewatch if it goes on HBO Max.
Too similar to what Bane was planning, I guess. Flooding isn’t bad and still leaves some lasting damage that leaks into the sequel.
This was excellent. It felt like my favorite tones of the Nolan films mixed with my favorite Batman stories of the last 25 years. Especially The Long Halloween and Scott Snyder’s run with the Riddler. I like being dropped in to an already established world with a character like Batman. The cinematography slapped too.
I mean, it really is, though. The sad thing is that, in spite of the Riddler’s plans being out spite for the privileged, it’s surely the poor and vulnerable in Gotham who were most affected.
I meant flooding isn’t bad as in it’s not a bad creative decision for Reeves’ Batman going forward. At least compared to the bomb threat of TDKR. And you have a point about the Riddler’s final plan doing more damage than good for the people he was supposedly for. I think it would be great to dive into the repercussions of the flood in the sequel. It should play a decent role so long as there isn’t a time jump.
I was in awe of this. I have longed for something that was so unlike the Marvel movies in the blockbuster realm, and we finally got it. I'm so happy this was made.
