Concerning the doubt of Affleck wanting to play Batman, DCEU executive producer Charles Roven said this:
Hopefully it's not that Arkham-centric movie then. I just want a small-scale Batman movie with one big bad.
I feel like casting all the badies now doesn't bode well for any future films who try to use them. I'd love to see a Riddler movie or a scarier, more surreal Scarecrow.
I have faith in Reeves. I don't, however, have faith that the studios won't try and fuck things up, but we shall see. I honestly wish that Reeves could take Trevorrow's place on Episode IX.
The news coming from this film since it's inception just breaks my heart. Granted I'm not in the industry/fully understand it, but hopefully Reeves puts this in a great direction. Everything surrounding him and the project has excited me.
My thoughts every time I think of this film: Please be good. Please utilise Ben Affleck in the best possible way. Please.
Man....... seeing a Batman movie in March with Ben Affleck directing and fighting Deathstroke would have been awesome. Bummed we will never get to see it.
