Collecting comics sounds like another expensive hobby I don't need to pick up, but I'm really interested in reading what some superhero films and shows and games are based on. I read The Killing Joke back when I still downloaded stuff illegally... and I didn't really like it as much as I think it's hyped up to be. What's a good alternative for reading something like Long Halloween at relatively low cost? (Immediately after writing this, my mind went, "the library, duh.")
Library is definitely great for comics, but honestly DCU is pretty inexpensive. I think it's like 6.99? I forget, but you have everything you could want to read on there. I scaled back all my monthly readings just to go back and focus on stuff throughout DC history and it's been a lot of fun. outside of that, keep an eye on comixology, they have some pretty awesome sales. admittedly I prefer reading the physical trades or physical books, but sometimes I gotta do what I gotta do haha.
