This was great from beginning to end. I love the opening scenes with the repetitive "are you rowing" comments. It just set the mood perfectly.

 

Any idea when this will be streaming?

This was incredible. Colin Farrell’s best performance — but wow leaving the theater the first thing on my mind was Barry Keoghan’s performance and character. Not sure a line has ever shattered me with such offhand nonchalant delivery as “There goes that dream, then…”

 

This was so so good

 

Also for any book people: the Irish author Kevin Barry’s novels and short story collections remind me so so much of the feelings I get from this movie & In Bruges. The incredible dialogue, themes of regret and melancholy set against pitch black humor and violence — highly recommend. The book Night Boat to Tangier is so easy to imagine as a McDonagh play starring Gleeson and Farrell.

this really was just men would rather chop off all their fingers, but weirdly only do it off one hand which would probably make it harder to cut the rest off then go to therapy
also loved how every character was ACAB

Favorite film of the year I believe though the top is getting really crowded now. Best time of the year.

 

Everyone was great but, man, Keoghan blew me away in the scene where he gets rejected.
