First two have def grown on me, but the second two are meh - more in line with the rushed, generic stuff from the debut. Onto it’s you.
Short, sweet, punchy 30 minutes. Definitely seems like they sharpened up a lot after the last album's aimlessness. I'll enjoy getting a different one of these stuck in my head every day for a little while now.
It definitely feels more cohesive and consistent but some of these feel like half songs/half ideas. Idk what all the rush is. Doubling down on all the extra effects and beeps and boops in every.single.song gets tiresome. Love it in spots but it loses its impact with overuse and muddles a lot of short songs.
I know - it’s gross. TikTok clips and shit. They used to jam and rock out - that was their best attribute. This isn’t bad - it’s fine - but they can do more. Novacaine is the best on here.
Haven't listened aside from the singles, but does this album seem unusually short to anyone else? I see only one song barely hits 3 minutes.
Super catchy on first run through, but it's a bud light version of the band we fell in love with a few years ago, as we've discussed to death on this forum already. I don't see them coming back to the depth and cleverness I felt was there in their career pre the albums. But I wish them all the success in the world.
I love that it’s a more cohesive album from these guys, but definitely agree most of these songs are not fully fleshed out…
I listened to it a few times today. It was enjoyable enough but it feels like it's meant to be pop music with guitars. No more or less. It's a shame because I love Jeffs voice. My wife and I listened to this and the Maine's new record on the way to the beach today and it made me appreciate the Maine's record even more.
Same exact sentiment. I want to enjoy them in tandem but it just makes me want to put on the Maine more.
Idk why it’s the comparison because they each have their own merit and exist in different enough spaces, but I’ve always preferred this band to The Maine But with that said, I was really hopeful this was gonna be a home run album from the singles and it was … pretty good on first listen
I’ve barely liked anything they’ve put out since tryhard, but absolutely love everything on that and before it. But even at their peak, this band has never come close to The Maine.
The Maine is on a completely different level than band camino in terms of songwriting and quality music in my mind, it’s not even remotely comparable
