yes Probably my favorite of the 5 songs that have leaked* (subways only a live recording) but honestly all 4 that aren't frankie are good enough.
Folkstar is super solid. I love Frankie Sinatra, but Folkstar really feels like a 'The Avalanches are back' song if that makes any sense.
I'm late to the party, and haven't listened to any of the new songs yet (trying to wait until I can hear the whole album) but didn't they say they weren't going to use any samples on this album?
It surprised me too when I heard it, considering the samples were basically the crux of the first record. Just Googled it, and apparently I'm not crazy... The Avalanches Unveil New Album Track With No Samples BUT it looks like they just printed it wrong and said "album" when only the song "Colours" is actually sample-free.
some of the guest spots according to wiki "Frankie Sinatra" (featuring Danny Brown & MF Doom) "If I Was a Folkstar" (featuring Toro y Moi) "Colours" (featuring Jonathan Donahue) "The Noisy Eater" (featuring Biz Markie & Jean-Michel Bernard) "The Wozard of Iz" (featuring Danny Brown) "Stepkids" (featuring Jennifer Herrema & Warren Ellis) "Saturday Night Inside Out" (featuring Father John Misty & David Berman)

This is pretty good. Second half felt fairly mindblowing but the first half is super spotty. It also kind of never feels like it actually gets all the way going. Will definitely give it some good listens but but it's got maybe two more all the way through before I blast frankie sinatra and a couple others to the moon
I've only listened to like a song or two before this but I don't think this album is very good at all.
I'm really digging the second half of this. I absolutely hate the mixing of the vocals though. So pushed to the back and garbled.
