I know this isn't exactly new, but this is a perfect window into Australian culture. Also, that Powderfinger live stream had me wondering...how many big Australian bands deserved to have more attention worldwide?
wish I knew this thread existed like months ago hahah, been on a huge kick reliving some if my favourite local/obscureish childhood bands for some reason recently. comfort food I guess if you want stuff from roughly the same era as Powderfinger I'm happy to talk - actually I could talk your ear off for days about that haha
whoa this is massive sounding, very bon iver but also stands on it's own. think I'm gonna really love this album.
This album is scary good and deserves a lot more attention! So glad that NME Australia put it on their list of the 15 Best Australian Albums of 2020 (So Far) and here’s the NME Aus list: The 15 best Australian albums of 2020 – so far | NME Australia
That Violent Soho album was disappointing. Slowly Slowly's Race Car Blues was far superior in my humble opinion.
this is incredible and musically very diverse but rooted in that Bon Iver sound/style. idk why that cover/song are the default for the link but the whole album is out now. also very good. as if it's from a different time period.
It’s my favourite album of the year so far, and I feel connected to the music on a totally different level than I did with Reservoir. Just my two cents, but I’d definitely recommend it for your agenda.
The new Husky album out today is a thing of beauty. Husky Gawenda himself is also sitting on some absolute golden solo acoustic songs (think Joni Mitchell ft John Martyn) that he hasn’t released yet. So good that i’ve heard him play them twice live in 3 years and can still hum them.
Well, this is gross. Never been to Festival Hall, but by all accounts a pretty good concert venue. Hillsong Church buys Melbourne's iconic Festival Hall
Debut album from 20 year old New Zealand star BENEE out now. Come join in the thread! BENEE - Hey u x (November 13, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm
The debut album from Hachiku is amazing. Never heard of them before but saw a friend recommending them and so I checked them out. Good stuff. Hachiku - I'll Probably Be Asleep (November 13, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm
