  2. My band from Brisbane announced our debut album and released the first single on Monday.
We're also touring with the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in November, if anyone remembers them haha

Have been told the new song sounds like Deftones, Circa Survive, Bring Me The Horizon and Angels and Airwaves, so who knows

So a thread about Australian/New Zealand music made a year ago doesn't mention King Gizzard once?? Shameful.

    Any Gizzard fans in here?

So many favourites have already been mentioned, but a few acts I love to bits & haven’t seen here are Angie McMahon, Mallrat, and Press Club

The new Dear Seattle record is apparently very good.

Can't remember if I'd mentioned this before in this thread, but man, Slowly Slowly's release from last year absolutely rips.

Not sure who originally created this Ruby Fields meme, but I’m cracking up every time I look at it.

You guys up on Hatchie? Her debut album comes out on the 25th.
This is damn close to my favourite song of the year so far:

randomly popped up on my Twitter timeline and I fell in love.

"Prudence (moniker of Tom Crandles -Au.Ra) lays an idiosyncratic vision, a strange journey into a world that is heavy and addictive. The pieces are electric yet effortless; a natural disaster of dissonance and melody, drawing on his own tragic comedy and capturing vagaries from relationships to addictions; euphoria, ache, uncertainty, joy and bitterness are all expressed within the constraints of his infectious songs."

The new Slowly Slowly song is an absolute earworm.

I've been meaning to get into Waax for a while. I saw them support FOB last year and weren't too bad.

Keen for new Alex Lahey this week.

From what I've listened to so far this year, can confirm Dear Seattle and Stella Donnelly records have both been molto bene. Need to give Ceres/Julia Jacklin a few more spins.

A few years ago, I was going to make a free digital compilation featuring cool unsigned AUS/NZ bands, but it never came to fruition, unfortunately. It's still totally something I want to do someday though!

UPDATE: Fuck it. I'm gonna do it!

  24. Mentioned Charlie Collins in another thread, but she’s an artist I’m so excited about. I’m a sucker for dreamy indie rock led by a sublime emotive storyteller like her. Please check out her debut album, Snowpine, and spread the word!
