I am loving all the good press they r getting at the moment, I don't know if the new album will be released this year or next year but regardless it's an exciting time to be a fan of The Ataris!!

 

Wasn't it confirmed for March next year already?

 

Not an official release date, but that’s what Kristopher is targeting

The problem with Kris continuing to write more and more songs is he’s already previewed like twenty new ones that all sound great and we’re probably never gonna hear half of them lol

I just have those digitally, but I've listened to the covers one as much as any Ataris album. His "Kiss the Bottle" cover is amazing.

Why do people keep acting like he's lying? I don't get it. This entire recording process has been so super transparent.

I believe people are just skeptical after hearing this since 2007. This time it’s much different - the frequent updates, visible marketing and promotional materials, as well as an actual single. Kris wants to make this happen and it’s awesome to see.

 

That's what I'm saying though, it's so obviously different, that's why I don't get the comments when they pop up.

I’ve been waiting a long time for this album… The Ataris are my favorite band and every couple years when there’s a sign of a new album, I get really excited and then nothing happens. You can see how I wouldn’t want to get my hopes up.

 

Still don’t get it with everything we’ve seen from Kris the last however many months now

 

What are these?

 

An unfortunate side effect of Kris promising this album for so long is that it made people distrust his word. Now, people’s knee-jerk reaction will be “Yeah right” when he’s posting studio updates despite all the evidence to the contrary. That’s literally all it is. It’s not rational thinking, nor is it logical, but distrust is often neither of those things.
